1. Who provides Hero Academy?

Hero Academy is provided by Tweed Technology Limited, registered in England and Wales (company 07820713), at Clavering House, Clavering Place, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, NE1 3NG. Contact ian@tweed.technology.

These terms cover the Hero Academy homepage, Reading Adventure, NumberQuest and ChoreQuest. They are written for the adult using the service or helping a child use it. ChoreQuest accounts must be created and managed by someone aged 18 or over who has authority to manage the child’s participation.

These product terms apply to Hero Academy. The company’s general terms describe its wider business and paid professional services; provisions about business-only use, consulting fees, invoice penalties and annual price increases are not part of using these family adventures.

2. Learning and suitable use

The adventures provide practice, play and encouragement. They do not diagnose or treat dyslexia or other conditions, replace teaching or professional assessment, or guarantee a particular educational outcome. Grown-ups should choose a suitable starting point and help where needed.

Use Hero Academy for lawful personal, family or supervised educational use. Do not attack the service, try to access another household, share sign-in links or PINs publicly, upload harmful material, or misuse another person’s information. Follow any additional rules that apply to your school or organisation.

3. ChoreQuest and family rewards

Grown-ups choose the chores, schedules, rewards and household members, decide what is safe and appropriate for each child, and provide suitable supervision. Do not assign dangerous, unlawful or age-inappropriate work. Review jobs involving heat, sharp tools, chemicals, appliances or outdoor equipment carefully.

Children mark work for review; authorised grown-ups decide whether to approve it. Points, earnings, balances and payment entries are family records. Hero Academy is not a bank, wallet, escrow provider or payment service and does not transfer money. Adults are responsible for their own reward promises and for making any payments outside the app.

Only invite people you trust to the household, check their permissions and revoke access for lost or shared devices. Do not create an account on someone else’s behalf without authority.

4. Your accounts, saves and backups

Reading and NumberQuest save progress locally on the device and browser in use. Clearing site data, changing devices, removing an app or browser storage cleanup can remove local saves. Use the game’s backup tools for progress you want to keep. Local saves do not automatically synchronise across the different adventures, websites or a future mobile app.

ChoreQuest uses online household records. Keep your adult email account secure. Account access and important changes may require fresh authentication. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to deal with misuse or a security issue, and will explain and provide a contact route where appropriate.

Our privacy notice explains how information is used, the retention approach and your rights. Help & contact explains how to request account or household deletion.

5. Availability, features and charges

The current web adventures are offered without a Hero Academy subscription charge. Your internet or device provider may charge you. ChoreQuest is an early family beta; features may change and availability can be interrupted for maintenance, faults or hosting limits.

Any future paid feature or subscription will show its price and applicable terms before you choose to buy. These terms do not authorise an automatic charge. The planned mobile app has not been released in the App Store or Google Play.

We aim to keep the service useful and reliable, but cannot promise uninterrupted access or compatibility with every device. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes or closure where practical, except where urgent legal or security action is needed.

6. Content and ownership

Hero Academy’s branding, original artwork and application content belong to Tweed Technology Limited or the relevant rights holders. We give you permission to use them as part of the service for personal, family or supervised educational use. This does not give permission to sell or pass off the brand or artwork as your own.

You retain the rights you have in information you enter. You give us the limited permission needed to store, display and process it to provide the service and your requested support. Separate third-party or open-source licence terms apply where supplied.

7. Responsibility and consumer rights

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a reasonably foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill, subject to applicable law. We are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable or a failure caused by your misuse of the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, any mandatory protections and rights to bring proceedings in your home jurisdiction continue to apply.

8. Questions, complaints and changes

Contact ian@tweed.technology with a question or complaint. Tell us which adventure you were using and what happened, without sending passwords, PINs or private sign-in links.

We will update the date when we change these terms and give suitable notice of material changes. Changes do not remove rights that already exist. You can stop using the adventures at any time and request deletion as described in the privacy notice.
